Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Learnex (the "Service"), operated by Learnex ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What Learnex Is

Learnex lets you upload your own course material (PDFs, slides, notes, images) and generates study aids from it — explanations, quizzes, flashcards, and AI-narrated video or audio lessons. You're responsible for what you upload; we're responsible for generating useful, source-grounded content from it.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use Learnex. If you're under 18, you confirm you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Service.

3. Your Account

You sign in via Google. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity under it. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Your Content

Material you upload remains yours. By uploading it, you grant us a limited license to process it — through our AI providers — solely to generate the study content Learnex provides to you. We don't sell your uploaded material, use it to train third-party models beyond what's needed to serve your request, or share it with other users.

You confirm you have the right to upload the material you provide (e.g. your own notes, or course material you're permitted to use for personal study).

5. Subscriptions & Billing

Learnex offers a free plan and paid subscription plans (currently "The Explorer" at $4.99/month and "The Master" at $7.99/month), billed monthly through our payment processor. Prices are shown on our Pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content you don't have the right to use
• Use the Service to generate or distribute harmful, illegal, or plagiarized content
• Attempt to abuse, overload, or circumvent rate limits or access controls on the Service
• Reverse-engineer or resell access to the Service without our written permission

7. AI-Generated Content

Explanations, quizzes, flashcards, and lessons are generated by AI models based on your uploaded material. While we ground generated content in what you upload, AI can make mistakes. Learnex is a study aid, not a substitute for your course materials, instructor, or your own judgment — always verify anything important before relying on it academically.

8. Service Availability

We aim to keep Learnex reliably available but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. Features may change, and the Service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or due to circumstances outside our control.

9. Termination

You may stop using Learnex and delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including abusive use that threatens the integrity or cost-sustainability of the Service for other students.

10. Limitation of Liability

Learnex is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including academic outcomes based on AI-generated content. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you agree to attempt mediation before pursuing formal legal action.

Nothing in this section limits any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country or region.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Learnex evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do and, for material changes, notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
